We had booked the studio from 11 – 1pm to ensure that we get enough practice before our live show. Our group was under pressure as we only had 3 days to put a live show together in the gallery in which Mike’s group had produced for us. The roles were as follows:

 Floor Manager: Chris Birch

Director: Oliver Harris

Autocue: Amy Freeman

Vision Mixer: Daniel Shultz

Tricast: Jonas Jakunas

Camera: Charlie Amber

Sound: Varisha Patel

Lou had gone over each role with us to make sure we still remembered what to do. As I have never really worked on sound before in the studio I was a bit worried as to whether I would be okay using it. The group used this session to get familiar with out roles. As we had no script or inserts as of yet, we used old cci live ones to practice until we got our script/inserts for the live show. We also decided that it would be best if we get the presenters in on Thursday so that we would have enough time to practice in the studio and adjust to the roles and getting used to setting up the studio. We all seemed to be working well as a team.

My group and I were supposed to meet up at 2pm today, however we decided to meet up at 1.30pm. This was to set up the studio so that there was enough time for the presenters to rehearse instead of us wasting time setting up whilst we were there. The presenters my group and I had wanted to use was Tom and Natalie as they had good chemistry on set. They also presented well and were able to work well with us.

As it was our first live show and only had a couple of days to rehearse, my group and I were very nervous and put under alot of pressure, however despite this, we all worked hard and well together. As autocue and sound were located next to each other in the gallery, Amy and I helped keep track of time of the show to help the Director so that it was easier to let the floor manager know when to cue the presenters in when they present. The group were slightly worried however, as a final draft of the script had not been uploaded on the tri-cast and we were unaware as to how long the final draft will be. The presenters worked well and delivered the show very well and were good at ad-libing if we were running behind time. We asked the presenters if it was okay for them to come in at 9 the next day to present and luckily they agreed so that we could get practice for the actual show with the correct inserts etc. One insert had been ingested today however the last one hadn’t so we were still awaiting. As we had a draft of the script we did have an estimation of how long the show would be so if we did run behind or over the presenters would be able to cut ad lib or carry on with it.

Tue, 25 Sep 2012 12:00:00 -0700 Black Team http://vptvbro.posterous.com/black-team http://vptvbro.posterous.com/black-team

For this unit Television Broadcasting, I was put into a group of 7. My group and I were to create a 30 minute show and pass it on to another group (Red Team) to deliver in the CCi Studio. The show would go live via CCi Live and sometimes be broadcasted on the Big Screen in Guildhall square. We were allowed a 6 week period to plan, discuss and film before we were due to go live at 12pm on a Friday. After the show was delivered, Red team would then create a 30 minute show for my group to deliver. This would happen and change every 6 weeks, sometimes being in the studio delivering the show and sometimes creating the show. This was going to be a challenge for us as we would have to aim to hit the 30 minute mark exactly and ensure there are no mistakes whilst delivering, everything was edited to a good standard for a good insert and we all worked well as a team. In addition to this, we were the first group that was going to go live and only had a week to prepare which meant we were going to be put under more pressure. Red team were producing content for us and my group were delivering in the studio. If there were going to be any obstacles that we faced, we would then ensure we wouldnt make the same mistake twice to improve for our next show.
